So much to say really, i could go on forever but in brief we have seen almost all the west coast (ish)

the first week we stayed in a nice apartment hotel courtesey of Amy’s parents for which we were very grateful. using this as oiur base we spent days readjusting to a world with no yellow truck, we spent days in freemantle, rottenest island, perth city and the beaches! once again i took a blow to the face courtesey of a surf board, 4 stiches and 75 quid later its all healed however. we also spent a day driving to a huge wave shaped rock, just for the hell of it we made this 8 hour round trip and gues what…for the first time since my driving test 2 and half years ago – i drove a car! accident free, but my parking leaves a lot of room for imoproivement!

on monsay the girls and i left for our respective trips, mine taking a few days longer and going further, we pretty much did the same things up until monkey mia, that was the pinnacles ‘desert’ and kalbarri and monkey mia to see dolphins, a farm to feed kangaroos and play with snakes – they also had an ostrich too, but been there done that etc!! Hutt river province, this guy if he lived in Englabnd would be put in a looney bin! but fair play to him he challenged the government a good few years ago cant remember exactly the ins and outs but he refused to pay tax then exploited a loop hole that the ealry settlers had claimed owner ship of perth and surrounding areas – his farm was miles away so it wasnt included – he eventually got a letter from our queen saying it was his!! his own little country within australia called Hutt river province, i even got the free entry visa!

after that we headed up to exmouth via coral bay and the ningaloo coral reef, we swam – well actually walked in the shallows with sharks and saw numerous sting rays – youk now the ones that killed steve irwin! we also stayed on some old sheep shearing station – apparently a bush camp. one or too passengers wernt to keen especially the koreans with microwave rice meals!! but it brought back memories for me, a bush camp! the catch? it had huts to sleep in a generator for power and a fire burner for hot water! whimps. we pulled our beds outside and slept under the stars anyway – after a good meal and some camp fire singing we slept right through the heard of cattle plodding by! after this was a natural spa we didnt have much time to sit and unwind from a hard hard day of nothing! but we made the most of it and cooled down in the swimming pool then watch the sun go down over the sea from the beach! travelling is fun.

we got to exmouth had a few drinks and went sandboarding the next day, that was the worst bit of fun iv ever had – it was a plank iof wood and the girls took forever!! but once the boys got a go it was game on – jsut wished for more time! time for the 36 hour drive back with more pee stops than you could imagine. travelling sucks!

the worst part about travelling is the travelling! hours on a bus train or plane. tiday i need to sit and wait for my plane jsut so i dont have to pay for another night i will be staying in the airport from about 9 til 3am. great!

any photos from my time on the tour are here

another few photos from around town are here!!

did i tell you the mo has gone? well it has and i feel/22 again! Anyways arrived Perth on 1 Dec and staying around here in a nice paid for apartment courtesy of Amy’s parents! until the 10th then i do an 8 day trip up the coast on a bus, woohoo more living of a vehicle – this time it wont be as extensive as the first but looking forward to it nonetheless, 350 quid for a weeks too isn’t bad :) after that i fly out to Melbourne on 19th then on to Sydney on xmas eve – 5 days later! then the fun begins (more fun!) thats when Hilary gets to Sydney and we can start to look at what to do next! the girls have their plan and similar to me they will be in Sydney for same period but spending more time in Melbourne! so as of the 10th we will probably be going our own ways meeting up in Melbourne and Sydney but with no plans made!!

and the last thing, i finally have decent internet….photos at last

So…we left cape town to drive along the beautiful roads of south africa’s garden route. stopping in numerous places en route with no signifigance but the activities surrounding were what made the trip…the worlds highest bungee jump, and i did take part, Ostrich riding of which i did have a go and Surfing….of which i did kick Hilary’s ass at (Hil is my new gf – shocking i know). basically i had never touched a surf board in my life and hilary had an hour or so trying to get stood up for a fraction of a second and not once did she manage- then came my turn. some quick instructions here’s where you lie, paddlle paddle paddle..blah blah blah lets just have a go….first time stood up with enough time to wave 2 fingers in the air…best moment ever!! :) Jefferey’s bay is SA’s surfing mecca and i wish we had more time there but for $20 to rent a board for the day at least we got one good day out of it!

en route we also stopped at Cango caves some tight passages that we got to climb through which was so much fun! some of our group had a go at horse riding as we headed for Lesotho (less-who-2) a country within SA, the scenary is famous and the horse riding almost compulsory – LISA, ELAINE if yuo are reading this you would have loved it i took some photos of a couple of horses and will get them up as soon as i get some DECENT internet (very hard to come by!) DAD if you are reading this there are so many motorbikes on these roads its got something for everyone i imagine its a great ride!

What else? err water falls and cascades and lots of them. there was a very challenging trail called the otter trail and we blitzed it on the way there was absolutely knackered, but it was worth it the waterfall was amazing…needless to say i was the first up there climbing in and diving into the splash pool, a very refreshingly FREEZING atlantic ocean splash pool, we had so much fun that day as we stood under the waterfall and lazed in the sun, the walk back was much more casual and onwards we travelled.

I have so many photos from these trips yet not one computer in Jo’burg will let me upload them so im going to try as soon as i get to australia…we depaert tonight and arrive tomorrow afternoon…and then its all change.

Originally i had planned to travel wioth sarah, and amy all the way for 9 months but then i met a girl, hilary. I decided it would be great iof i could spend more time with her, as she is now coming to Oz, so i applied for a working VISA once in a life time job and hopefully i can get some teaching practise in Brisbane about 2 months into my trip, then work for a couple of months then continue in Oz for a couiple of months, giving 6 in total. then the trip continues to NZ, Fiji, Bali, Singapore, Malaysia ans Thailand. with 4 months tp travel i dont think i will get time to travel Cambodia vietnam and laos, but then money would have been a limting factor otherwise. As for the girls they now have their own plans, to travel OZ at their own pacebeyond sydney, at least for the next 2 weeks in Perth we will be together and take it as it comes in sydney.

Im really looking forward to the period after xmas but the next 4weeks will be just as fun. I’ve rushed i know it but internet is not cheap and im on my last coins ans i cant even get photos up, 2 hours til airport pick up for a 12 hour flight – oh joy. as soon as i can get photos up they will be there and you will know about it!! until then i hope everyone is doing well at home!
